A tall, lanky man who projects an aura of menace. Usually dressed in all black. Moves like he is always prowling. Very long, golden hair that is sometimes worn loose and sometimes braided. No body language. He only moves when he intends to so he can be perfectly still when talking to someone. It gets creepy. One eye is red with a slitted, cat-like pupil. Looking at him for too long can give someone a sense of ancient, oppressive power and pure violence. This eldritch presence can be felt from a distance and is strong enough that even people who have no experience with magic can sense that he is not human..



SHARD

A small chunk of what looks like marekanite. In the light, it has an almost prismatic sheen. It is embedded in his chest, just below his clavicle, and is usually hidden by the high collars he wears.

Yuber bears the mark of the Iconoclast on his left hand, just over his Eight Devil Rune.

PERSONALITY

A violent, bloodthirsty creature who loves nothing more than battles filled with the screams of the dying. He is not human and doesn't understand human social norms very well. Despite his nature, he is loyal to those he decides are his allies and will protect them when they need protection.

Beneath the violent cravings, he is searching for a way to free himself from ages of suffering caused by an unfortunate fate...

BACKGROUND

Yuber has appeared on bloody battlefields throughout history but his own origins are mysterious, even to him. He's not sure where, exactly, he comes from...

ABILITIES & SKILLS

Sorcery

Yuber is a powerful sorcerer who possesses a range of magical abilities. He can summon skeletal monsters, launch explosive blasts, and teleport at will. Additionally, he can perceive magic that is normally invisible to the naked eye. For instance, he can detect any magical barriers that may be present in an area by walking around its perimeter and identifying any weak points in the barrier's structure. Yuber can also sense any magical energy present in other individuals, although this ability may vary depending on the specific case.

Nerfs: Yuber's teleportation ability is restricted to the island he is currently on, and he can only take one person with him while teleporting. In combat, there is a visible shimmer of magic around his body before he disappears, which could be interrupted by a skilled fighter, preventing him from teleporting to safety. To summon monsters, he will use his magic to animate the dead instead of pulling them from another dimension. Because of this, the monsters will be closely linked to him, so they will disappear if he flees, is injured, or is killed. The number of corpses available will also limit his ability to summon monsters. Summoned monsters will usually be shambling humanoids with swords or bull-sized horned creatures. He will need to learn how to manifest something like the Bone Dragon again. If that happens, it will likely be a major event.

Dragon Armor

An ominous black suit of armor that covers his face. He is ostensibly able to create it with his powers.

Nerf: Since Yuber is already durable, the Dragon Armor will be normal plate armor with no special enhancements.

Arcane Knowledge

As an ancient sorcerer, he has a vast knowledge of spellcraft, can concentrate intently when casting a channeled spell, and knows a lot about rituals.

Note: His arcane knowledge would make it easier for him to wrap his head around Harmonization powers and setting-specific rituals. That is something that would be shown through RP only. OOC he'd gain abilities at the same rate and in the same ways as everyone else. He will need to be in the setting for a while to learn how local magic works.

Intelligence

Yuber may not be renowned for his strategic genius, but he is famous for his cunning and his status as an immortal warlord with centuries of battle experience has taught him how to lead armies effectively. He has developed marching formations that are nearly impenetrable, with only Pesmerga having found ways to penetrate them.

Spirit Sense

He has a kinship with death that allows him to see and communicate with spirits of the dead.

Swordsmanship

Yuber's superhuman strength and dexterity make him a skilled swordsman who is comfortable using all types of blades. He moves so quickly that he can even parry arrows and bullets.

Physiology

Yuber is a physical manifestation of chaos. He doesn't require food, drink, or sleep to survive. He can move in complete silence, even when wearing full plate armor. He can heal from most non-grievous injuries quickly, which means weapons like arrows are ineffective unless they hit his heart. Anything that he fails to parry away from him, he'll just pull from his body. He can shrug off most magical attacks unless they come from a particularly powerful source. If he falls in combat, his body destabilizes and explodes into shadows without leaving a corpse. He can still communicate while this happens. This is normally when his soul returns to his home dimension, but this would be considered a death in a game setting.

To kill Yuber, someone would need to pierce his heart or sever his head, which is easier said than done due to his healing, speed, and tendency to teleport away if he senses danger. Although it's still possible to kill him, it would require a group effort most of the time.

Nerfs: Attacks that don't outright kill him will add up over time more quickly than they used to. For example, one arrow to the chest he could shrug off. A volley or taking multiple arrows from one marksman over a short period will hurt him more quickly than he can normally heal, forcing him to flee. My intention is for him to be formidable but not obnoxious.

Eight Devil Rune

A technique Rune within his left hand and a "child" of his True Rune. He can use his magic to split into three phantasmal versions of himself and attack from multiple directions at once for a few seconds.

Thunder Rune

A magic rune within his right hand. With this Rune, he can cast powerful lightning spells on one or multiple targets. Said spells can be viewed here under the Suikoden 3 section.

Eight Sectioned Rune

"The True Rune of Chaos" is a part of Yuber's being. If its personality awakens, it may give him rare eleventh-hour superpowers or transform him into a Kaiju known as a Rune Incarnation. However, this can only happen if the Rune senses that Yuber is in extreme danger. It's important to note that becoming an Incarnation can only happen once, so it should be considered a potential player plot if it ever happens at all. Other than that, the Rune gives him no additional powers.

Writing Style: Present tense in brackets but I'll do my best to match the style of whoever I tag.

Backtagging: Yes. Because of my job, I can be a bit "feast or famine" with my tags. Sometimes I'll boomerang and sometimes I'll be very slow. Always feel free to poke me if you think I've forgotten a tag. I don't mind!

Physical Violence: Is going to happen with this character, possibly a lot. I am happy to play out fights.

Death/Dissipation: If it makes sense for a plot, definitely!

Physical Affection: Yes! Yuber will likely react with bewilderment. People usually perceive him as grotesque due to the aura of wrongness around him. He will likely never be the one who initiates.

Shipping/Sex: Yuber may have sex depending on the situation, though it's very unlikely. In terms of having a relationship with him, it's not possible. The best he could do is develop a liking for someone that would be similar to how a wild animal would feel towards a human who occasionally left food scraps for it. It would be an alien sort of fondness.

Mental/Communion: Over Communion, Yuber's vast, oppressive presence can be felt. It usually feels like heavy oil dripping over the mind. Fellow Iconoclasts can sense his hectic emotions. Probing his mind is doable but talk to me first! One might be able to see his surface thoughts but digging past that could be at best uncomfortable and at worst extremely dangerous. He might also be aware of someone looking if they aren't careful.

Offensive Subjects: Yuber hates peace. It isn't just that he finds it dull, either. As the embodiment of chaos too much tranquility makes him lethargic and he finds serenity physically repulsive. Other than this he is very mercurial in his emotions. Sometimes he may react with indifference, other times he may be roused to intense anger. Enjoy!
